dance
The concept for this choreography is based on a Taoistic journey through the four seasons. In Taoism the four seasons are connected to four elements: water (winter), fire (summer), metal (autumn) en wood (spring). The transitions between the seasons stand for a fifth element: earth, that connects the four elements.
If one considers that our body is built from what the earth produces, one can imagine our body is transformed earth. Therefore the dancers bodies represent the element earth. Every element is connected to a specific colour: fire is red, metal is white, water is blue, wood is green. Each dancer represents a colour that corresponds his/her way of moving. Shades of this colour are spread over the body, like a bar code of DNA.
